USDA Introduces New Trade Lead System

Is your business looking to expand its current export program? Or is your business new to exporting and seeking qualified international buyers? The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) recently announced a new Trade Lead System, providing a platform to help U.S. food and agriculture exporters connect with potential buyers in foreign markets

The new USDA Trade Lead System provides U.S. exporters with information about potential foreign sales opportunities and also enables international buyers to search for U.S. food suppliers.

Sales leads are available to all registered users and are also distributed to nearly 100 U.S. agriculture trade associations and their members, individual state departments of agriculture, and regional trade USDA partner groups.

The system enables users to search leads by one or more product names or by Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes.

Once an exporter identifies a lead, the exporter can choose how to proceed. The exporter can elect to contact the lead directly or utilize the FAS network of overseas offices to help with translation.
