The Alameda Corridor is a famous freight rail "expressway" which connects the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to railroad mainlines near downtown LA. The Corridor provides more efficient freight movement while reducing truck trips, traffic congestion, air emissions and delays at railroad crossings. By moving one-third of the port complex's volumes, it is a vital infrastructure project supporting international trade at the nation's largest port complex.
